HVAC Technician
Description
The HVAC Technician is responsible for the implementation and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance for all HVAC-related systems within PEMC-managed facilities. This includes the daily operation, inspection, and repair of HVAC equipment to ensure optimal functionality and efficiency. The technician will also assist with installations, provide technical support across units, and always uphold health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
A. Maintenance and Repairs
- Execute daily HVAC system inspections.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance with minimal supervision.
- Accurately diagnose faults and perform necessary repairs without rework.
- Maintain service and inventory records of HVAC systems.
B. Installation and Commissioning
- Install, test-run, and commission HVAC systems in office and residential facilities.
- Design plans for new installations, considering space optimization and system requirements.
- Prepare accurate time, material, and labour estimates for projects.
C. Technical Expertise and Troubleshooting
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Understand and apply refrigeration cycles in daily operations.
- Troubleshoot system malfunctions and implement sustainable solutions, particularly in Office Block, Guest Houses, and other related buildings.
D. Cross-Functional Support
- Assist in resolving issues related to electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Coordinate effectively with other technical units to support operational needs.
E. Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Provide timely documentation and feedback to the Facility Manager.
- Complete inspection checklists and system reports as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant fields
- Technical certification or vocational training in HVAC systems is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years experience as a HVAC technician.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC principles, components, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting HVAC schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with HVAC control systems, refrigeration cycles, and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and specialized software for HVAC maintenance.
